I love building clinical relationships that can be a catalyst for long-lasting change and life satisfaction.

Bryce Nester

Resident in Counseling

I enjoy working with adolescents, young adults, and adults. When working with my clients, we tend to focus on pushing back against feelings of depression and anxiety, learning effective goal-setting strategies, and working through relationship/familial issues. Additionally, I love working with my clients to introduce new coping mechanisms and grounding exercises to help provide a sense of control and preparedness for whatever life throws our way!

I am incredibly excited to be one of the newest members of the Freedom Support Services family! I completed my Master’s degree in counselor education from Virginia Tech and am currently practicing as a resident in counseling. The vast majority of my previous experience revolves around working with students on a university campus as well as working with individuals from a local diversity center. My counseling style very much aligns with traditional talk therapy. I am not the type of counselor to rely heavily on worksheets, handouts, or exercises. While these can certainly be both beneficial and necessary at times, I have found that oftentimes through therapeutic discussion, much more meaningful connections are made and marked progress tends to follow!

One of my favorite sayings is, “it is okay to not be okay”. It is both my job and my honor to meet you where you are and work with you side-by-side to assist you in making the desired changes that you want to see and live your best life possible.
